I've seen plastic, cloth and aluminum ones, and I'm just wondering which protects it better?

Well, I have a hard plastic case that works very well for me, and my daughter has an aluminum case that works very well for her. We both have clear plastic shields front and back on our ipods, and the combination seems to be good.
I've heard (both online and from people in the Apple store) that the silicon cases tend to trap dust particles which will scratch your ipod, but don't know that for sure.

Leather is going to provide the best shock resistance, plastic is going to give good shock resistance while still being able to see your iPod, skins such as InvisibleShield will protect against scratches but not shock.

Yeah I was thinking about plastic, but I dont want it to be really bulky looking. I still want it to look attractive while providing protection and shock resistance. There are just so many choices I dont know what to go with. haha.

I think I've decided I want to get a Griffin iClear, but I also want to get a film cover to put on before the iClear. I was wondering if it will still fit if there is a film cover over it?
