Hi all, I haven't posted on here for about 3 years, I used to be quite well-known. Haha.

Anyway...

I've got a Fiat Punto, and up until now I've been using the original radio/cassette thing with my ipod via a cassette adaptor. The quality was absolutely terrible and the things kept breaking every few months.

Anyway, I've been looking around and saw this

as a potential replacement.

My question is, will I be able to fit it myself without any trouble?
My car seems to have standard molex connections in two sets of 8 pins. I'll post some pictures below.

Cheers in advance.

I dunno how it's in the U.K. but here across the pound, buying such a unit usually comes with an adapter harness for the specific vehicle (neebie install), or, the unit comes with a wire-out diagram and u splice the all the wires yourself (expert install).

Cheers for the reply, mate. I thought I wasn't going to get an answer.
I'm fairly sure all the units over here are interchangeable and I'm probably just going to bite the bullet and buy it. :)

In my experience it's worth getting a pro to do it. I know how to install the stuff properly but most of the time it's not worth it. It would take me half a day to do it properly, or I could pay some local audio shop $50 and I don't have to worry about it. I know that alot of big box type stores offer free installs as promotions if you buy from them, maybe check into that..

HI

did you know that the top right section of the radio plug that you have is the AUX audio input ? it was also use for the cd changer you can input audio from any audio source and use a blaupunkt aux audio input plug

if you buy a kenwood head unit, buy one with the USB plug the ipod to usb cable will be out in august of 2007

For everyone's info, my problem is now solved!

I ended up going into Halfords and getting the guy in there to fit me a very nice new Sony unit which is very neat. I now control the whole thing through the stereo and the iPod is tucked away in the glove box. Wow.

Although for £110, I'll living frugally for a few months.
