Hi,

I like the way that on iTunes, you only need to have album art on one song in an album, and it'll still appear for every song in the album in Cover Flow. Is there a way of doing this on my iPod, so it'll somehow use the same image for each song in particular albums? It wastes a lot of space having album art on every single song, especially as I like to use hi-res images.

Thanks a lot,

Adam

No, the iPod needs an image for each song. But the size is very small, even hi-res images are re-sized so artwork only amounts to about 1% of your library's size on your iPod (i.e. for 4GB of music, artwork will take up ~40MB or less).

Are you sure about that, because how come when I access my iPod through iTunes, I can still open the album art in it's hi-res state?

Everything I've read on this indicates that the artwork is down-sized into two pictures -- one thumbnail and one larger one for the iPod's full-screen view of the artwork. But neither is a very large file. Even a 500x500 picture is about 45kB; mice nuts on the grand scale of things ...
