After six years, I have a lot of junk on my computer so I am planning on reinstalling Windows and all programs on my C drive. I moved all the files on my C drive that say Ipod or Itunes over to my extra hard drive (G). How will this affect my reinstallation of Itunes and loading of my Ipod? I have a 60 GB video Ipod with about 40 Gb free. Will I have to reauthorize my computer since I am reinstalling the operating system?? Also how should I go about reinstalling Itunes with my library intact??? Thanks in advance, Jay.

hey Jay,
Before you format make sure you go into iTunes and choose to de-authorize that computer. iTunes only allows you to authorize 5 computers and if you fail to de-authorize it will always count that one as still active. Once done re-installing all of your stuff, when you connect your iPod to iTunes the first time it will ask you if you want to sync with this library. If you choose yes you will delete everything on the iPod. If you have all your stuff backed up then it's no big deal but if not you could be in for a bit of a shock. Once installed just drag your library folder into the library title on the left side of iTunes and it will import everything back in just as you had it. Good luck!

Thanks Chris = at what point do I drag and drop the library -when I reinstall Itunes, then plug in my Ipod, at that point it asks the question and at that point I drag and drop the library and then answer "yes"??? Jay

First you install iTunes, then you drag your library into itunes, then you sync your iPod.
