Okay, first off I am not too computer savvy so I will try my best in explaining my problem. Last week I was listening to mp3’s through my Windows Media Player while iTunes was up in the background. I clicked off of Windows Media Player and it asked me something about “syncing” was not complete and I said that it was okay and canceled. Since then every time I plug the iPod cord into the USB port in the upper right hand corner a image pops up saying “autoplay” with a flashlight scanning over a file folder. When I enter into iTunes at the bottom where it lists my 30GB capacity it states that “21.36GB” is taken up by “other” while there is only 6.48GB’s left for audio. I have checked the entire iPod for anything that would take up that much space and there is nothing. I restored the entire iPod in hopes that it would correct this problem. But, to no avail it still persists everytime I connect the iPod to iTunes. I have read numerous postings for the past five hours and have tried various things suggested….nothing has worked. Anyone have any idea of what I can do to end this madness? My next stop is paying someone too much money an hour to fix this problem.

In case you need to know I am running Windows XP, have a 30 GB iPod using version 1.2.1 of iTunes. And yes, I have iTunes as my default player now.

Great thanks to anyone that can lend a helping hand……

Is disk usage enabled on your iPod?

OK, u got 2 probs, let start with #1, the autoplay.

What happens if u let autoplay finish? Does it display a box asking what u want to do? If so, select NO ACTION, and check the box saying ALWAYS DO THIS, or something to that effect.

the only option it leaves me (while the autoplay/folder/flashlight thing is happening) is to cancel. I have tried that and it doesn't make a difference if I select cancel or not. Nothing populates in iPod or iTunes. Now after I have restored the iPod it says "songs on the iPod Adminstrators iPod cannot be synced because all of the playlists for syncing no longer exist"

I just tried importing five CD's onto iTunes to play on my iPod and none will show up on my Ipod. They do though show up on iTunes

No-no-no. DON'T CANCEL. Let it finish scanning, THEN follow what I said above.

Okay, I just went in under "my computer" and right clicked on the iPod. I then went down to properties and selected "autoplay" and restored it under default settings. I am not sure if that is what you were refering to bobb-mini but it did something right!

THANKS AGAIN BRO!!!!
