Please. Someone out there who is smarter at this than me help me out. I have a Ipod 60GB photo that thinks it is a 16GB. I was in the process of uploading songs to it when the connection was lost (how, I don’t know). Then I got an error message (I think it was the folder with the exclamation point). After doing a restore in iTunes and plugging it into a wall, it became convinced it was 44GB smaller than it should be. I have tried formatting it, doing the regular iTunes restore, smacking it around a bit, going into the system tools section to see if I can get it to recognize the other 44GB, and opening it up and pulling out all the ribbons and resetting them in tight and snug. Nothing changed. In the HD Info screen it tells me this about the hard drive:

Model Number:
TOSHIBA MK6006GAH
FirmwareRev: BY002A
HDSN: 65G87722T
Total LBA: 33799811
Total Size: 16 GB
Temp: Current 33c
Min 0c Max 59c

As you can see, it is a 60GB (based on the model number and the fact that I BOUGHT A 60GB!). This is really starting to irk me as I got the 60GB so that I would not have to worry about space for my songs. At 16 GB I constantly find myself having to swap out albums to put new ones in.

Please help. I’ll try anything to get it working (short of animal sacrifice or crimes against humanity). Thanks!!

Well, the closest Apple store to me is a little over 3 hours drive, so that is not the easiest answer in my situation. Anyone have other suggestions? Thanks!
