View Full Version : Running case for new iPod?
My wife has been stealing my "new" 15GB iPod as of late for her early morning running routine... I first found out when I noticed some very strange music loaded in there.... She had been SNEAKING it! Was too afraid to ask to use my baby! LOL!
Anyway, she's just been holding the thing in her hand, and I would like to get a good case that can be attached firmly to the body somehow without the need for a belt clip or the like that my come loose while running in sweatpants.
I know cases for the new iPods aren't quite available yet, but does anything look interesting?

I think your only choices (at least the only one that I know of) are the Mareware Sportsuits (http://www.marware.com/Overview_iPod.html) (they come with an arm band).
Unfortunately the newer versions of all the marware cases arent availbale yet (supposedly the date is set for May19).

Is running with the iPod working for people? I've tried running with my iPod, a docking connector 30gb, and if I hold it, it seems to work for about 20 minutes (the length of the cache?) and then crashes and resets itself. I'm hoping an armband case will jostle it less and keep this from happening...
thanks,
Cory

Yes, the iPod has a skip protection length of roughly 20-25 minutes. So your iPod is probably being thrown around too much and can't operate correctly, thus it runs off the memory cache until it is empty, then crashes.
I personally haven't tried running with the iPod...too lazy :P
However, I'll be mowing my lawn this weekend on my riding lawn mower so that should test it...my last MP3 player (Archos 10GB Studio Jukebox) would always crash after a minute or two due to the vibration. We'll see if the iPod can do any better. :)
My wife has been running with the little beastie every morning for about an hour; she hasn't complained about any problems...

Ah the joys of being lazy... no movement == no skip :)
