Problems with 2nd Gen?

I got a 2nd Gen shuffle in December and it appears to not be working. I use it for running only and I don't use it all the time, so it has had very little use. Recently I took it off the charger for a run, and it suddenly shut off about 15 minutes into the run. I ran for another 45 minutes before it started up again and it kept working for another hour or so. I charged it again and used it on a 2.5 hour run the other day just fine. Yesterday it became unresponsive about 10 minutes into a run. I put it on the charger and nothing happens. Any suggestions? Or is this why there are return policies?

Run the apple shuffle reset tool from apple.com. Charge the shuffle for a full charge. 4 hours, put music back on it and try again.

I appreciate your response. I downloaded the reset tool as you suggested, but it does not recognize that the shuffle is connected. I assume that because the shuffle is not responding the computer can not recognize it. Any other suggestions or ways around that problem?

Try in different port and another computer if you can.
