I have this question that may sound really stupid to the lot of you....but there is a magnetic force in the iPod earbuds, specifically the first gen nano ones. If you rubbed them together (which I did) and the magnetic force is pushing back and forth, does that break them? I would assume that since most people put them together that it wouldn't be an issue but is it?

No, I used to rub them together all the time. And they still work great after 2 years. Also, if they break, you can send them in and get a free pair.

Of course not...that's what magnets do.

Well I thought it might be like when you put a magnet beside an iPod or a smaller music playing device and it broke off some of the parts in it because of the magnetic force. Thank you for reassuring me, I was hesitant about it because they were new, and I didn't even realize they had magnets in them before.

Putting a magnet by an iPod wouldn't break little bits off inside it, but it would probably completely corrupt the drive ;) (depending on how strong the magnets are)
