I'm returning my etymotic 4Ps. I've had them for over a week, and although the sound is great, I decided to take them to the gym, and they like to slide out of my ear when I lay down on the bench. Because these in-the-ear-canal style earphones require pretty exact placement in the ear for best audio (actually, accepted audio since the sound change is so drastic), certain movements cause them to move around a little bit.

I like to work out, so this is a pain in the ###. I was on the bench today, and the left side just fell out of my ear. I usually use the earphones that came with my 1st Gen Nano for the gym and that seems to work great, except right now these earphones are louder on 1 side, which is why I'm in the market in the first place.

I looked at the v-moda, but I'm curious as to if this style will also cause problems during a workout.

Please recommend what you use when you work out. Currently, I'm thinking that maybe these noise-cancelling earphones will not be what I'm looking for since they require a "seal" in the ear for best sound. thanks in advance.

If isolation is not a factor I would recommend the Koss KSC-75. Great sound, under $20 and can be bought from Amazon.com.

Unless you're ears are weirdly shaped, the clip-ons will stay firmly on. They're very good for exercise.

I been using KSC75 while running & lifting, it never fell out of my ear. Also it cheap($17 from amazon) so I won't feel bad when it break.

I checked out the Koss KSC-75, but it is not the type of earphone I'm looking for. I sometimes where glasses, so I don't really want anything going over my ear...

What seems to work best are the stock ones that came with my 1st Gen Nano... but I'm looking for better sound...

Anyone have any recommendations in this area?

I haven't tried all the earbuds in the world, but I did listen to the stock Apple buds for awhile and have recently replaced them with V-Moda Remix headphones. They are earbuds, same basic shape as the stock Apple ones.

They are a clear upgrade in sound quality- better bass, and treble (clarity), and not as harsh. I thought the Apple buds were good if not great, and I am very happy now with the V-Moda's. I have a pair of Koss KSC-75's which are great, but the V-Moda Remixes are much better for on-the-go, etc.

They're also nice looking and seem well-made (aluminum.)
