I noticed today when I went down to the mall..the stand at the store had KOSS KCS-75s w/o a volume control in a older looking blue/orange package with the front stating "Titanium Element for Improved Bass"

Then I went into radio shack, low and behold I found the KCS-75s with a volume control, a newer blue/green packaging and the text "Titanium Element for Clearer Sound" or something to that effect.

Now since I got the radio shack package last time, I went ahead and purchased the one without the volume control..to me it seems like it has more bass and the volume gets higher without that volume control.

So my question is, is there two different models of KCS-75s? If so is there any real difference between the two?

I don't think there is much of a difference. The volume controller on the cable might effect the sound. I personally find it annoying so I just recabled the KCS-75.

Some people say that inline volume controls decrease sound quality. I for one have always gotten KSC75's without it, so I couldn't say for sure.

From what I heard and read from different forum the one with out volume control sound better than the one with volume control.
