hey. i had an Archos mp3 player but one day it stopped working with my computers. The drivers are horrible and the thing sucks. Never get Archos. So this christmas i am thinking of getting an ipod. I have some questions. Im not a mac man. so bare with me

1. i have some "illegal" music on my pc. Can i still upload it to ipod with itunes or any program?

2. Can i put any type of file on the ipod? exe. zip. ect.

3. Other than the ipod, do i need to pay for ANYTHING else? i already have the music. I dont want itunes charging me or anything.

4. Can someone tell me the differnce between these names at http://www.lajo.biz/iskin/ when i buy a skin. ex: ISK5, PT, eXO2, Xskin

um...MP3s that you download off file sharing are basically illegal..and yes you will be able to upload them.

Yes you can put any type of file onto the iPod.

Itunes will not charge, unless you use the Music Store.

As far as I know, the physical hardware is the same. The only difference is in the formatting of the file system.

I don't think that its possible to buy a G3 iPod that is only for Mac, or only for Windows.

When I bought mine, it had to be "converted" to work with my OS, which is Windows. It only took a few moments, and everything was done automatically after I installed the iPod software on my PC.

Hope this helps.

That's fine, Macs can read FAT32 drives (how WiPods are formatted).
