Bose TriPort for $90

I can get Bose TriPort for $105 CAD ($90 US) because I have a friend who works at Best Buy. This sounds like a steal to me, but I'm afraid that it might be too fragile. My friend explained how a lot of the displays have broken. However, I can get a replacement plan which I did get for my Shure E2c. I live in Canada, so these can double as ear muffs. Lately, it's been extremely cold. So I will be getting these next week, unless there are other reasons not to. This is a steal right?

They are cheap for Bose, expensive for their sound quality, and probably better used as earmuffs than headphones. Unluckily the triports are fragile and sound bad - probably no better than several $20 headphones out there. The main stealing been done is by Bose even at this price.

Try some AKG 81DJs or Audio Technica ATH-ES7 to give 2 very superior alternatives - the AKGs are cheaper than your reduced price Triports, and the Audio Technicas are about the usual price of the triports.

I too have a friend that works at Best Buy and with his discount I can get the Bose for 52.00...thats how much he got my Shure E2c for!!!!

I really like the sound of the Triports and for $90.00 + $20.00 for the replacement plan, that's a real good deal.

...but, there are a lot better options in that price range - I would go with the Sennheiser 280 Pro for @ $80.00; no replacement plan, but much, much better sound and comfort.

just think about how many people/kids jerk those displays on and off...
i have a pair and love them...it was impossible for me to go around and test all these other brands being metioned so i went with the one that were most accesible to me... they havent broken and i think they sound pretty good...although i think they use an amp in the demo models because they lack the bass they have in the store displays...anyway if you want to spend that much on them...go for it
