What are the best yet least expensive firewire cards with SIX pins and power? I have heard generic for 20 bucks are sufficient but some ppl say these are not great. I am willing to spend 40 bucks for one like the belkin or adaptec. Thanks for your help!

If you don't want any worries, go with the Adaptec 4300. Other cheaper cards may work, but it's hit or miss--you may go through several cheaper cards until you find one that works. My advice would be to get the adaptec, it's a bit more expensive, but it's worth the extra money not to have to have a hassle on your hands.

thanks man! I just placed the order from the apple store for the ipod 20 gb, $392 total after free shipping and 25 dollar off coupon that I got when I joined the apple music store. Tax though made that discount only about 8 bucks. I am buying the extended warranty 46.99 from amazon (as opposed to 59.99 from applestore) and the adaptec. Thanks again!
