Hello
We have upgraded our ipods and given the Mini's to our parents.

When we have installed iTunes etc on parents computer and plugged in the Mini's, it still shows our name as registered user etc, i have logged our iTune account out now - but, how do i change the owner registration on the Mini's to my parents from me ? (or doesn't it matter?)

Thanks in advance

Just click restore in iTunes and it'll erase all the music and let the user choose a new name. If you want to keep all the music on it and just change the name, you can just double-click on the iPod name in the left menu in iTunes.

DUDE!! You gave your Mom a hand-me-down Ipod?? After she gave birth to you, was in labor for 46 hours, wiped your butt for 3 years??

You should be ashamed.

I have monthly fruit baskets sent to thier door step, that's over $500 a year based on the fruit I'm sending. AND, an old Mini isn't considered "wonderfully expensive" anymore, they're pretty cheap these days. Still good but cheap. The 4 I have were all donors and out of the pile, I made one work.

Monthly fruit deliveries, the gift that keeps on giving..

Giving your folks an Ipod will insure that you get to talk to them a lot more on the phone now.. Telling them how to add songs, delete songs, why it does this and that, how can you make it do this and that..... With fruit, I just say "Peel it and eat it."

They still have a pretty good resale value. I have seen Minis go on eBay for over £50. Makes you wonder why people by Nano's. Aside from the battery life and the 8GB model there is no difference. I always hand down my iPods. I gave away my old 3G 30GB iPod to my brother and my iPod Photo 60GB to my fiance, which in return my fiance gave me her iPod Mini and at the moment I have an 80GB Video Black.

I was thinking of selling the Mini, but my brother is thinking of getting a Nano, so out of the kindness of my heart I may decide to give him my Mini instead.

hi i have just been given an ipod mini by my son in law. i have downloaded itunes but not opened an account with istore, as it asks for my credit card details but apple doesnt tell me why it needs them and what its going to do with them.

i have loaded some music from dvds and i connected up the ipod so that i could synchronise the ipod with my itunes library. the music on the ipod has been erased, but my library has not been downloaded to the ipod! each time i try i get this message

"some of the items in the itunes library, including "scared" were not copied to the ipod "adam's ipod" because they could not be found. (new para) for a list of itmes that could not be copied, check the + below"

of course being a weekend, apple is closed and so i have not been able to get through on the phone. i would be eternally really greatful if you could tell me how i can.......

1 register it as "roger's ipod"

2 download the music from my library to the ipod

thanks in anticipation
