I bought a used 10GB ipod, no dock connector from ebay. all i received was the ipod and a firewire connector. it had some songs on it which i dont care for so (how am i doing so far). i plug it into my windows laptop and at first the e:drive showed up eith just contacts and calendar folders- no music files showing. so i dragged some of my mp3's from the computer onto the ipod and when i look on the ipod meu those songs werent showing up. soo, i did the ipod updater to erase/reset the thing. now when i connect to the computer it just goes into this permanent "do not disconnect" mode. . i have been browsing the forums but cant find a solution.
what am i doing wrong? thanks in advance for any help you can offer.zeek:confused:

You need iTunes or Music Match for one. iTunes I would say is better and free. Go to www.apple.com and download it and install it, don't run it yet. Eject your ipod (right click the e: and click eject) then disconnect. Plug it in and iTunes should load after a few seconds. If not, load it yourself and see if the iPod is detected. The "Do not disconnect" message is a good message. It sounds like everything is OK, you just need to get iTunes. You drag songs from iTunes to the iPod (it will show up to the left with all the playlists and all). Let us know what happens.
