i just mailed my order for my iskin.coms iskin exo 2 and it says 1 to 2 weeks before its gets here. I probably am going to pick my ipod up tomorow(yay). How bad do you think it will be scratched until my case gets here?

I've had mine for a while and I never use a case, I just stick it in my pocket (I make sure there's no keys or anything in there) and it's still fine. I don't like using a case as it ruins the sleekness and size.

My iPod likes being naked lol.

In fact, I've heard about people using cases saying their case actually scratches and marks the iPod.

Depends on the case, really. Apple's case is pretty notorius for causing more damage than it prevents simply because you're required to slide the iPod in and out rather frequently, which is the source of many scratches and surface blemishes. I just recently got a Vaja i-Vod which looks to offer excellent protection because I have no need to remove the iPod (I've pretty much given up using the docking cradle), so it won't be subject to friction damage.

As for how long a "naked" iPod can go without damage, it really depends on how you use it. If you're throwing it in a pocket or letting it rattle about in a backpack then it'd be more easily scratched than if you left it sitting on your desk.

if you are careful with the ipod it can stay in decent condition. my apple case keeps my ipod in great condition, so I dont know what people are complaining about. Just DO NOT DROP IT WITHOUT A CASE.

The problem with the stock Apple case is that the constant friction from having to always slide the iPod in and out increases the likelyhood of scratching.

I use the Apple case, and it scratches. I'm only using it because my Jam Jacket scratches it even worse.

I've used the Apple case for a month now and it does scratch, lightly though. I'm ordering an Exo2 soon because I already have a few very light and small scratches on my screen and I do not intend to see them get bigger or multiply!

I guess the problem is the iPod is too sensitive! I guess it comes with the hefty price! Kinda like a spoiled rich kid LOL!

I to 2 weeks? Every time I've placed in order with Lajo, which is in China, I've gotten my order in 2-3 days. Seems kind of ironic.

Anyway, you'll inevitably get a few small scratches, but get over it. It gives the 'pod character :)

I use a iSkin and I've got some scratches on the front, but I don't fret over it.

I ordered from iskin on sat night, did the 2 day shipping for 1.50 more than standard (no brainer) and it came on tuesday. Can't beat that. If I didn't do 2 day it wouldn't have shipped until 12/29 which was longer than i wanted. Definitely worth the extra buck fifty for 2 day.
