Currently when I touch a button on my ipod the apple sign will come up and later it will change to the folder with the exclamation point. A few minutes later it will go away. I try connecting to my computer and it is not recognized under my computer or itunes. Sometimes when it is connecting it will say Do Not Disconnect like it is charging or it will have the battery with the exclamation point on it. For the most part the apple logo will be present. No idea what happened or what to do.....

Also, The odd time when the do not disconnect icon comes up it only does for a very short time. The battery bar in the upper right hand corner does not look to be charging though it always is empty. After the do not disconnect icon comes up it stays as I said for a very short time then goes blank and returns to teh apple logo.

Tried a reset? Do you get any specific error message whenever your iPod is connected to your computer? Have you tried going into disk mode? Try letting the battery drain completely, and then charging it. However, if your hard drive is corrupt, then I am afraid nothing can be done, other than get the hard drive replaced.
