So I want In ears to block out some sound, etc..
Will they quiet down the traffic so you can actually hear the thing?

Looking @ cheap earthumps/jbuds, mixed reviews, good, bad, too much bad, good highs, no high, good mid range, no mid range... muddy muddled

wtf <--

Different people have different ears...?
People's opinions are ####ing me off.

Then the CX300 one side longer cord might annoy me, I don't know...
EP 630?..
V moda bass freq... they don't have that longer thing going on..right?

And all the cheap in ears on ebay.... Reading the seller's Ebay feedback, EarThumps are good, $10 in ears aren't bad, $18 in ears are pretty good..

Do any earbuds should as "good" as those one's that go over the ear...because to me, even like $5 dollar over ear thingies sound better than the iPod earbud..

Got the EarThumps,

They have the AMAZING feature of making every song sound like ****.

Muddy, Muddly, Mumbly, Dull sound.

They sound worse than the stock iPod earphones.

The sound is no better than the earbuds that come with those $2 spy toys (Though these are more comfortable, but they should make the silicon cushions smaller.)).

What exactly is your price range (don't just say "cheap")? IEM's (In Ear Monitors) DO block out a lot of sound. So much so that you can turn down the volume on your source and still be able to hear the music well.

What type of music do you listen to? What are your musical preferences? Do you want a neutral sound signature - that is, do you want to only hear what the recording engineer intended you to hear? Or do you want a colored sound - that is, kind of like adding salt/pepper to your dish, adding this/that to taste (warm sound, more bass, etc.)?

If you want a neutral sound, go with the Etymotic Research ER-6i or the Altec Lansing iM616. Both of them are on Amazon.com for ~$70.

Can't go wrong with EP-630 with your budget.
