Ok so simple enough question but searching for this answer here in the forums is turning out to be impossible. Can someone tell me how I can upgrade from my 3rd gen iPod to my new 5th gen? I want to make sure that I dont lose any music in this process, but want to basically move all of my music to my new iPod without losing any of it. So can someone tell me or point me toward this answer?

Thanks

Just plug in the new iPod into the same iTunes your old one used, set up your sync preferences the way the old one did, re-sync (if needed) and you're done.

OK that worked. Wow I feel stupid. ;-) That was too dang easy. So does this mean that my old iPod will no longer sync or what? Not that it matter, I dont plan to keep it, but was just curious.

It will sync, my old one still syncs.

You can have as many iPods as you like. You can keep the same music on all of them. You can only play protected AAC files (iTunes Music Store purchases) on up to five authorized computers, but you can load those same protected files onto any number of iPods, as long as they are loaded from one of those five authorized computers.
