i own a 30gb ipod video which i am very happy with the only criticism is the games apart from itunes is there anywhere to get more games

There are games on the iTunes Store. They cost $4.99 a piece and are really addicting. Make sure you have some extra money on you though if you want to buy a game. Some include Pac-Man, Zuma, Tetris, Bejeweled, and Vortex. There are 11 games in total and you can buy them all in a pack if you wanted them all.

No, there are no other places to get iPod games other than the iTunes Store as of current writing, but I haven't really looked.

You could try downloading iPodLinux for your iPod. For the 5G's, the software is still Beta, so you should try at your own risk. You could damage your iPod if you install iPL, and Apple won't give you a refund if you've been modifying or tweaking it. Meanwhile, if you don't like the risk, iTunes is the only way to go.

Yes, just look up Free iPod Games. They are quiz games and stuff. Pretty neat actually.
