US Bought ipod

Absolute newbie here, I have just returned to the UK from the states with a 30gb ipod, my quetion is about re-charging it.

Will it be ok to re-charge it through the supplied usb cable?

and secondly can i buy a mains power charger in the high street here or will i need to get one from the states and use a 3 pin plug adapter?

I know i should have checked all this before i bought it but at the time i thought it would be ok...

I used my iPod, purchased in the US, on 220v power in Kuwait without a power converter; just plugged it right into the multi-plug power strip and away I went.
