I have completed a factory restore and now the Ipod is requesting that I charge using a mains charger, I currently only have a USB and Car charger and was wondering if there is anyway around this without buying a mains charger.
At the moment the screen displays a mains charging icon and I can not access the ipod at all.
Appologies if this issue has been answered previously but could not find it on the forum :)

Try the car charger, I can't see why it shouldn't work.

What iPod do you have? I've restored my 1st-gen nano a couple of times and it's never asked me to do anything other than "leave the iPod connected, it will appear in the source list once the restore process is complete".

4G and earlier iPods require you to "flash" the firmware by plugging it into the wall after a firmware update or restore. Nanos, shuffles, and full-size iPods 5G and later do not require this. It certainly can't hurt to try the car charger, but the charge from a computer will not be sufficient.
If that doesn't work, either find a friend who does have a wall charger or take it to the Genuis Bar at the Apple Store, and they'll plug it in for you. It only takes a second to flash the firmware.
