Hello,

I have very recently purchased an Apple iPod of 4GB, and when I got home I started loading songs and videos into it.

When I tried to play those, I received an error and following the iPod support manual at [http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs] I tried to restore it (after the first four didn't help), but when I plugged it in the iTunes program didn't show it in the source list.

I decided to format it, hoping that might solve the problem, and now after I formatted the computer is telling me that my iPod's space is only 470 MB.

I have no idea what I'm supposed to do now, why is it showing as 470 MB or why wouldn't the iTunes program recognize it.

Greatly appreciated if anyone could try to help, thanks in advance.

Roee.

How did you "format" it? Sounds like the files you tried to install are still there somewhere. BTW, if you have a 4G nano, it will not support video files.

Computer Management - > Disk Management - > Format on the iPod drive.

It's with video support.

That guy said if I had iPod nano it wouldn't show videos but my iPod does have video support.

Nano does NOT play videos. As for the space, i think your way of formatting is was wrong. Instead, restore your i pod through i tunes.

Thanks a lot! BUT AS I SAID.. iTunes doesn't recognize my iPod when I plug it in.

Appreciate the reply, but next time please read first.

Does it really matter if it plays videos or not? that's not the problem.

As I said, iTunes doesn't recognize it when I plug it in. so I can't restore it that way.

As for your problem, it must be a problem with the type of formatting technique used. It could be a manufacturing glitch, ie, it could be a problem with your hard drive (flash drive in this case). I think the best for you would be to rush it to apple for further repairs.
