I have a bunch of cds that I uploaded onto my computer via Windows media player. I would like to add these cds to my iTunes library but when I try to upload them it says that they are WMA protected files and it cannot be done...Is there any way around this??

Not unless you re-rip your music into iTunes, without the windows DRM.

The usual way around it would be to burn the tracks onto an audio CD, then (as Nickster says) rip the CD into iTunes in the usual way.
You sacrifice a tiny bit of audio quality in the conversion process, but in most cases you likely won't notice the difference.
