PLEEEASE HELP
Apple sent me to COMPUSA (2hrs awa) last night and I just helped myself, plugged my ipod into a G5 and it sync'd up just fine no-problems with my cable. Was no Apple rep there like i was told there would be. So i found a XP Machine with a firewire port on the front and plugged it in. Screen went black and now ipod will not respond at all. If very quiet you can hear the hard drive for a sec when you touch buttons but no other response plugged or not plugged (tried on G5 again).
I have only had this ipod for 2 days (sencond one). I just want it fixed... I love it when i works it is the greatest.

Brand New 3G 20GB ipod new install of Windows XP. ipod charges but is not recognized by PC. Cannot use updater tried to reinstall several times.
Background: had ipod for 2 weeks then it died, no problems at all, till it died. have a belkin firewire card that I bought from apple so no issues there.
Had to reinstall Windows XP (30 days up activation code not arrrived yet) put it on a partition of main drive E: so that when i got my activation code i could save all of my data. Called apple last night and they told me that I had to install my operating system and the ipod software on the main C: drive in order to work. So i formatted C: Lost everything I had on that drive and reinstalled windows XP and ipod software. Still same thing ipod charges but will not connect. Called apple back and stayed on hold for 45 minutes and was cut off at closing time
thinking it might be the cable any suggestions
Just found this out, was told by apple that the firewire card Apple sold me is not recommended. They gave me some spill about communication between tech and sales....
