I have a 30gb Windows formatted IPOD that I have been using with Musicmatch on my old PC. I would like to transfer all my songs onto my new Mac G5 and then reformat the IPOD to work with iTunes on my the new machine (G5). Would love to know the easiest way to do this.

I apologize in advance if this question has been asked before. I have been searching for some time and have read no easy answer (possibly because an easy answer does not exist).

Thanks alot!

You could put all of your music onto your iPod (as a portable hard drive-you might have to delete everything on the iPod to make room depending on how big your music collection is or just move your music a little bit at a time) and connect and put them onto the G5. then re-format the iPod, import your music into iTunes and sync with the iPod.

That is a good idea, however 2/3 of the music on my IPOD is not on my PC's hard-drive. Crap. Is there some sort of application that will download all music from my ipod onto my PC's hard-drive?
Then I could copy it (as a folder) into the hardrive, which I could easily just access via the mac and the download it to the mac..
The only prob is that everything would be out of sync i.e. artists, albums etc... HMM.

Just leave it as a PC formatted Ipod. Theres no reason to have a Mac formatted Ipod.

There are a couple of programs that will allow you to copy the music from your iPod to hard drive, here's the link on how to it: iPod to Hard Drive (http://www.ipodlounge.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4719)
