got an ipod nano for christmas and i'm not sure whats wrong with it it keeps shutting off or freezing up and their is nothing i can do to turn it off or on so if it freezes up i tried to turn it off and i couldn't and when it turns off i can't turn it back on even if its pluged into the computer. i brought it to work and its cold at work so maybe thats the problem, it gets screwy if its cold? its ok now after i left it for a day, getting it ready to take back to future shop and just for the hell of it i plugged it back in to the computer and its working. any ideas? or solutions?

You can try Resetting by holding the center and menu buttons till it restarts. If this doesn't clear it up Restore it using iTunes, this will erase all the content off the iPod. If it is still acting up take it back for a replacement.

I can't see the temperature being a problem with the nano. The cold may shorten the battery's charge a little and the display will be slow to respond, but it shouldn't hurt it at all. I use my nano in the cold when I'm cross country skiing all the time.
