Album artwok delay

Downloaded album artwork using media monkey and copied all the songs with album artwork to itunes library. Images does load up fine on my Ipod but the thing is, there is like a 1-3 seconds delay before the album artwork loads up on my ipod. Is that normal? 8gig Ipod 2nd Gen. Thanks.

The same happens for me on my 2G Nano. Use smaller-sized images maybe?

so what you are saying is that the delay in loading the album artwork in ipod is caused by large images and such is normal assuming the album artwork i have of the song is large?

I would assume that the image is resized when downloaded to the iPod. Though I could be wrong, there's a lot of stuff iTunes doesn't do that makes it rather inefficient.

This small delay is normal, iTunes "Optimizes" the artwork before it transfers it to the iPod. It is possible that Apple may improve artwork loading with firmware upgrades. Future releases of the iPod will have faster processors which may speed it up also.
