charger and hardwire option??

hi all, about to get my first ipod(80gig) and was wondering if there is a product which can do the following....

i would like a plug, that plugs into the bottom of the ipod, which will use one wire to go into my dash where i can plug directly into the back of my aftermarket headunit, through the audio jacks, and also have a lead for me to splice into the 12v so i can charge it.


basically i want one plug, that both hooks up to 12v, and hardwires to my blaupunkt.

do they make it?

if not, what would be the closest thing i could modify....

i dont need my headunit controls to control the ipod....

Guess that depends on your Blaupunkt. Some models can handle one of these (http://www.nextag.com/Blaupunkt-iPod-Control-Interface-87122386/prices-html?nxtg=94660a200507-0F1A04AC2A66FF77). Have you checked with a local B dealer, or checked their web site?

I could be wrong about this, but I'm pretty sure that the Belkin Auto Kit or the Flexdock do exactly that.

the belkin kit is exactly what i was looking for.... what im going to do is route a 12v line under my seat where this kit will be permanently plugged in, and ill run the audio wire under the center consol up to the radio.... one wire exposed up to the ipod... rad...

i was xcited bout this, but then i realized, 1, it wont work with my deck, and 2, the blau ipod controllers are limited.. and it locks out the buttons on the ipod...
