I have a 5G 60GB connected to the BMW AUX adapter installed in my car via the line out on a Monster iCarCharger. On a recent road trip we used it for several hours one day without any problems. The next day it played for about a half hour then the head unit switched to the radio without any input from us. When this happened AUX was no longer a choice using the head unit's MODE button. If we unplugged the cable from the AUX jack in the glovebox we could then use the MODE button to get AUX to show up on the head unit. After plugging the iPod back in it would play for a few seconds and then shut the AUX off again. The iPod itself would never lose power. We tried this a few times and it kept repeating. The last time a left speaker starting crackling a little and we disconnected the iPod right away. Should I try using a brand new cable to connect to the AUX jack or is something wrong with the iPod itself? Is it shorting out the AUX connection? I tried it for about an hour hooked up to my home stereo via a universal dock and it worked fine. I'm concerned that it could possibly damage both my car and home speakers if it has a problem. Thanks in advance for any help and advice.
