Belkin TuneBase FM Transmitter Problem

I got this for Christmas but can't get it to work. In my car, I already have a CD/MP3 radio, which reads MP3 CDs and plays radio correctly. Here's the one I have:

When I plug in the TuneBase, the green light on the TuneBase turns on, but not my iPod, and I can't get it to work. I have a 60GB video iPod with the firmware 1.1.1 Any clues why it doesn't work? Here's my TuneBase:

Oh I forgot to mention, the green light on the TuneBase is always on, even if the car is turned off.

Im having trouble my self getting this thing to work, i looked at the manual on belkins website but no luck, could someone help!!
