I have a direct feed into my car stereo for my iPod, with a plug that goes directly into my iPod (not a regular line out). I recently got satellite radio, and wanted to use a line out feature (since the FM tuner is pretty crappy). So, I wanted to see if there were any adapters to convert from an iPod plug to a regular line out for normal audio devices. Any one know anything about this?

Thanks.

Any one know anything about this?It sounds like you're looking for a cable or adapter to connect to the end of the iPod cable that's integrated into your stereo. For that you would need something with an iPod receptacle (female), but I'm pretty sure that there are no adapters or cables that use the same socket as the bottom of your iPod. :(

Nope, something like rockmyplimsoul said - a female input with a regular audio out on the other end.

Try this:

and a mini-mini jack cable

Nyko makes a cable that is dock connector on one end and stereo RCA jacks on the other.

Anyone know where I can get a 1/8" to 1/8" cable that is only about 6 inches long. I can mount my ipod very close to the stereo in my Durango, which has an AUX-In jack. I currently have a 3 foot long cable but I have to wrap all that cable into a bundle that just hangs from the dash.

Surely someone must make them because they sometimes come with speakers like the JBL On Stage.

If I understand your set up correctly, you could always try this from Belkin:
http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=151928
and then take the audio from the 3.5mm jack into your car stereo.

This is what I bought when I first got my iPod:

Power cord: http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=195101

TuneCast II: http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=272764

But the new vehicle has the AUX line in.

This cable is cheaper on amazon. It's a lot better than the 3.5 to 3.5 connection.

That is a nice cable. But you can't charge your ipod and play it at the same time. You must depend on you batteries to run your ipod. In long trips, I like to be able to have my ipod on power from my vehicle.

You can charge the ipod through that cable. It works just like the cable from Alpine that works on the newer radios.

Where does the power come from? It looks like the cable goes from the ipod docking port right to the line-in port. Is there a 12v power cord that goes with the cable?
