hey guys i was wondering what casette adapter you think would be good for my 80gb ipod i got for xmas ? we own a 2,000 dodge grand caravan, and i want to play my music from my ipod in the van and was wondering what casette adapter i should use this is what i have (bought from bestbuy last night)http://www.amazon.com/Monster-Cable-Cassette-AI-CAS-ADPT/dp/B0001MQURE and i want to return it because the casette is so loud in the player and the volume on the stereo is so low with this adapter because we tried that and my friends and my friends actually lets the volume go louder, he uses a 7 year old aiwa i beleive. this is what i was looking at to buy because i have a best buy gift card http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=6323686&type=product&id=1077625430711
or from walgreens http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp?CATID=304321&navAction=jump&navCount=0&id=prod1414441

Awhile ago I bought a Belkin cassette adapter, and my old suburban thinks it's a cleaning tape :D but for any more recent car models it works fine...

but between the 2 adapters you mentioned here, I would go with the Maxell one.

The cassette adapter itself may or may not be your problem.

If the problem IS the cassette adapter, I'd recommend This Sony Cassette Adapter (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00005T39Y/sr=1-1/qid=1153111365/ref=pd_bbs_1/103-1989103-6181413?ie=UTF8&s=electronics). It gets great reviews from a huge number of Amazon buyers, as you'll see if you follow that link. Note that your monster adapter got very poor reviews from many amazon users, so trying this sony is a good bet. IMO a large number of good amazon reviews is nice insurance for products like this that have high risk of compatibility problems.

But BEFORE you do anything with your adapter, please check this post of mine (http://forums.ilounge.com/showpost.php?p=961182&postcount=34) which addresses problems such as you have and should help you through this. As noted in my link, volume problems can come depend on your iPod volume settings or (if using line out) the adapter you're using for your line out connection and/or its own settings.
