My daughter's iPod isn't working and doesn't mount when attached to a PC (I'm running XP).
When first connected, the Apple logo appears on the device and I can hear the hard drive in it whirring over and over like a car wheel stuck in mud. During this time a Windows alert tone sounds every few seconds, as if it's trying to connect to the iPod. Eventually, the Apple logo is replaced by a folder with an exlamation mark and sometimes a battery with an exclamation mark.
When I run the diagnotisics with iTunes, I get the message below, which seems to indicate that it sees the iPod. On one occasion iTunes showed a message saying that a corrupt iPod was attached and suggested reinstalling the software ... which is fine if I could mount the device.
Any ideas?
