iPod_Control on my hard drive

I am trying to figure out if this should be. I have a 4G iPod that works great and the sync to iTunes works great. The weird part is that I found my iPod content on my hard drive this morning. I have the standard /my music/itunes/... set up with all my music in it, but I now found a iPod_Control/ff.../... directory with all the music in as well. Has anyone seen this? Is it normal? How should I purge the extra directory without screwing up my iPod?
