Merry Christmas first of all.

I just received a new iPod Video (30g). I've been tinkering with it for a while and figuered out how to get videos on it. However, after getting them on there I try to play them and get no sound! The video plays both in iTunes and on the iPod itself, but neither has sound. How do I fix this? Thanks.

Hey...

I have the same problem on the iPod that I gave my step-daughter for Christmas.

I downloaded a trial version of "Movavi Video Suite 3.5" and converted a music video to a MOV (Quicktime) file and it seemed to work. The only thing is, the trial version of that program only converts part of the file. :o

The video I converted was an MPEG-4/MP4 file, which I thought was supposed to work with the iPod. I had to convert the MP4 file in iTunes to even enable the video's placement onto the iPod. But I did that and then there's no sound, on several videos. Weird.

I'll keep searching and trying different things and let you know if I find any big successes. If I have no luck I will contact Apple and get answers.

Good luck! :)

Hello again...

I've been poking around and I've found the following thread to be very helpful...

http://forums.ilounge.com/showthread.php?t=184940&highlight=video+sound

Scroll down the page and check out the reply by "honeybee1236". I clicked on: --2. Guides: CONVERTING Videos for iPod Use (Link: http://forums.ilounge.com/showthread.php?t=123067), and found a bunch of info there.

I downloaded the "Jodix Free iPod Video Converter" from download.com and converted a few music videos with no problem. When converting, I chose the highest audio and video quality and it made the conversion in just a few minutes. I put the videos and iTunes and then on the iPod and they seem to work just fine so far. :)

Right now I'm trying to convert a feature length movie from AVI format. We'll see how it goes.

I'll keep you posted. Good luck with everything!
