Connect to wall charger icon go away

After an update on a 4Gb Mini, the connect to a wall charger icon appeared, but stays there no matter how long I leave it connected to the charger and won't complete the update.

I've tried two different "good" wall chargers. Resetting gets the Apple logo briefly, but the connect to wall charger icon comes back. It will not go into disc mode either. I've connected it to two different computers and neither Itunes or Windows sees it.

Can anyone help?

Well, after trying 3 different USB wall chargers, I borrowed a car charger and the update finally finished after plugging it in to that. Apparently the USB wall charger isn't enough for this 4 GB Mini. I have a feeling a firewire wall charger would have done the trick also.
