Problems copying big files on PC from iPod

Hello:
I have a problem with my iPod (3th generation - 20 gb) when I use it as a hard disk, when I copy big files (100 megas or more) to the iPod no problem but if I want to paste it from the iPod to another Pc (or the same, never mind) the computer freeze and I have to restart it, sometimes I could paste one file but the next one I want to copy didn't work and freeze the Pc in the copying.
What could it be?
Is there a workaround to solve it???

I know its a pain, but one thing you can try and do, as long as you are able to transfer one large file without it pausing, is just disconnect the iPod, then reconnect it after, say, 10 seconds. I have to do the same kind of thing when transferring data from my phone often enough.
