J&R has these instock right now for $199 for 12GB!!! (rumor has it that a 15GB will be released late January) http://www.amazon.com/TrekStor-vibez-Player-Black-Silver/dp/B000KDZR5U/sr=8-2/qid=1166461391/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/105-1404713-2930803?ie=UTF8&s=electronics

It looks great and based on some of the on-line reviews, it seems to function very well (and yup, the battery is truly user replaceable)! ; )
And audio playback includes cross-fade between songs!! Someone must be reading my Apple rants! ; )

Here's some of the other stuff from the manufacturer:
The vibez--which comes with a set of Sennheiser headphones and a copy of Magix MP3 Maker SE music administration software--is compatible with Windows 98 SE, M3, 2000, and XP, Mac OS X 10.3.x, and Linux Kernel 2.4.x operating systems. The exchangeable lithium-ion battery, meanwhile, charges via the USB connection and runs for roughly 20 hours per charge. The entire unit is backed by a one-year warranty.

nano killer in terms of market take over? nah, take a lot more than that.
nano killer in terms of features? yes, but a lot of other players have more features than the nano for less price. Marketing is what has made the iPod so popular.

Looks kind of cool though. What does the wheel, or wheel looking thing, on the front do?

Is it me or does this DAP look fugly? I don't like the way it looks and I also think that unless there is a good interface this will wander off the radar real soon.

It looks ugly, but it's features far outweigh it's ugliness

Someone is definately listening to everyone's apple rants!

At least it's truely being innovative as far as design. What a Magnetically mounted scroll wheel though? I first saw this somewhere last week and immediately thought how unique it looks.

Meh, it looks too much like a cell phone to my liking. What would really make this product sell is a good interface (like iTunes), ease of use, and awesone audio.

I think it looks nice, but I'm not one of those who thinks anything not made by Apple is "fugly".

Its just awfully big for a flash player - about the size of a full-sized iPod.

Not me either. In a lot of ways I prefer the looks of my other DAP, the H320, even though there are a lot of people who say that one is fugly. What I do prefer over looks is great audio, a nice user interface, and good features, as long as it's not as fugly as the Vibez.

I'd like it a lot except for I'm all for video now and if it doesn't have it it's out.

It's not a flash player. It's a HD. Trust me if this where flash I'd own it right now.

Suddenly it doesn't look as good if it's HD based (and I don't think anyone has the ability to make a 12 gb flash based player yet, but it's probably coming soon). It also doesn't have AAC support...

Still, it has some nice features, but it's going to be hard to find a niche with a 12 gb HD based player.

Here's a looong video of the Vibez.

Pretty ugly looking player but a very nice interface. It also has gapless playback and plays a boatload of formats if you're into that.

I think that Vibez is so ugly.

Now this is something I'd be interested in:
http://secure.serverlab.net/shop/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=5120&Category_Code=ESP&Store_Code=T00107

Now on the PDF Sheet (http://www.wolverinedata.com/downloads/Wolverine_ESP-LR.pdf) this player has a user replaceable battery and records directly from TV and audio line-in recording from any AUX source. The display is 3.6" - 320x240 pixels but still this looks good.
