Hi All,

I am a new Audible.com customer from the UK and was really pleased to discover the Audible site, I?ve just finished my first book ?American Gods? by Neil Gaiman it was great. I was really looking forward to downloading this months free book but while searching the site I was amazed to discover that more than half of the titles I was interested in had ?ALERT: Audible.com is not authorized to sell this title to your geographic location.? plastered along the top of the page!

I wish Audible had made it clear that half of their library would NOT be available to me BEFORE I signed up for it.

I would like to say however that apart from this geographic location issue I think that Audible.com is a great idea and a wonderful way to get your audio books. (lets hope it will be available to UK customers too)

Just thought I?d warn other potential customers from the UK about this issue.

Dave

P.S Does anyone out there know if there is a way around this problem???

I totally agree with what Dave says. Audible.com, great if you live the US (or have a US credit card and mailing address) but none of the "popular" titles seem to be available to the UK. Trying to cancel you subscription from the UK also costs a fortune as you have to phone the cancellation line in the US, which of course keep you on hold for ages at international call rates! But on the bright side, at least the service is available to UK residents unlike itunes music store.

I was really annoyed at this also, but I just pulled off a little trick ;)

I just went and changed my address in my account profile, downloaded the book, then changed it back. No problem :)

At least I think theres no problem with that...
