Here is my question. I have about 250 songs on itunes right know. I'm putting my CD's on itunes little by little. Its time consuming let me tell you.

Ive decided that i am going to get the 2 gig Nano. with 500 songs. I don't know most of the time when I by a cd its just for a few songs. And having my favorite 500 songs is plenty for me.

But my question is...all the songs that i have on itunes. I don't WANT to put some on my ipod. Does that make sense? You know how there is a little checkmark by a song. If I take that checkmark OFF, it won't put the song on my Ipod when i upload it? am i right?

Yes that's correct if you use the auto-sync feature in iTunes, an unchecked song will not be transferred to your iPod.

You could also sync to selected playlists rather than your entire library. Then you can just make a playlist or a number of playlists and only the songs in the list(s) you select will be transfered to the iPod.

ANOTHER QUESTION.

For example lets say there is a song...on my Ipod (Ex: Guns N Roses) And I want to remove that song. How do you remove songs from your Ipod?

How DARE you delete Guns N' Roses! :p

When your iPod is plugged in, go to the iPod icon, then to the music tab and delete the track on your iPod.

ANOTHER QUESTION.

For example lets say there is a song...on my Ipod (Ex: Guns N Roses) And I want to remove that song. How do you remove songs from your Ipod? That depends:

- If you manually sync, connect your iPod to your computer and find it in the iTunes source column. Navigate to the song on the iPod, then delete it. The song will remain in your library.

- If you auto-sync, you can un-check the song and re-sync your iPod. Note that in order for this to work your iPod's setting need to be set as "Sync only checked items". Alternatively, delete the song from your iTunes library (you can keep the file on your computer though).

- If you sync to playlists, remove the song from the playlists that you sync to, then re-sync your iPod. Alternatively, delete the song from your iTunes library (you can keep the file on your computer though).

You guys are awesome thanks for all the help. Here is another question. It might be kinda important

When I connect my ipod to the adapter thingy it says "Do Not Disconnect" Can I still Disconnect the Ipod? I mean it always says that when its charging, but will there be probems if I disconnect it?

If you set your iPod to update automatically (either to the entire library or only certain selected playlists) and turn off "enable disk use", then the iPod will dismount by itself as soon as it's finished updating. It will continue to charge the battery as long as it's plugged in, but you'll be able to safely disconnect it as soon as the update finishes and the screen (of the iPod, not the computer) shows the menu or battery icon.

If you use "enable disk use" or manual updating, you will have to eject the iPod manually before you disconnect it every time.

If it was okay to disconnect it when it said "Do not disconnect", then why would it say don't do it?
