Hi everyone!
I'm getting an white Ipod video for christmas, and I have some questions regarding ways to protect the Ipod from getting scratched.

I've looked into two (or three, it depends on how you count) options.
The first is to get an InvisibleShield. But I read somewhere that if and when you decide to take it off, it'll leave you with an ####ed up Ipod. Is this true or was it just unfortunate?

The second and third thing I thought about is the case that comes with the ipod. I did some research on this aswell and I remember reading that it didnt help at all, though I can't remember is this was about the case or the protection thingie on the screen.
Anyway I looked into the Ipod socks aswell, are they really any good or just a design thingie? Do they differ from the included case protection-wise?

Thank you!

The only thing I can comment on is the InvisibleShield.

I had one on my original iPod nano which was replaced for a screen problem back in May. I took the IS off of the broken one and I did notice that it left a residue. I used some goo gone on it and it removed it quite nicely and left a nice citrus smell on the iPod. I have heard though that if you use a hair dryer to heat up the IS when removing it that you won't get the residue left behind.

I'll keep that in mind, thanks!
Altough I looked into Martin Fields aswell and I've almost decided upon a pair of MF and a sock..

I have an IS on my cell and LOVE it, but I just didn't like the way it looked on my 5.5G Ipod. I took it off -no residue, but it had only been on about a week- and put it into an evo3. I like it a lot, because it povides a lot of protection, is a very precise fit, and protects the entire Ipod. It's one of the few cases which also covers the docking port with a retractable cover. The click wheel is covered with a thin silicone membrane, and the whole front is protected with a coated polycarbonate plastic. This hard plastic on the front doesn't even come in contact with the Ipod because of its positioning inside the silicone case. Hope this helps.

I have had the InvisibleShield on my iPod for a year now. I never used any cases, and the iPod doesn't really have any scratches on it.
