I have a 15gb ipod using a powerbook G4. I have noticed a couple of my mp3's will play then skip to the next song for no reason...Even if you fast forward past the skip, they wind up skipping a few minutes later. It only happen on a very limited amount of tracks.

Is there a program for the mac that will allow me to test the validity of the mp3's that are skipping to see if they are corrupted at all?

Thanks for the help,
Stephen

Welcome to the lounge, Ipodding in NY! I am having this problem as well. I am not sure about a program for Mac to do what you ask, but I suggest posting in either the iPodlounge Problems forum (http://www.ipodlounge.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=39) or the Mac General forum (http://www.ipodlounge.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=10) to get more accurate responces.

Heh, how about this iPodding in NY,

Since cross-posting isn't something that we'd like to encourage here, I'll move this thread to the forum of your choice... just post here and let me know where you'd like it moved. Thanks!

I've closed the other two identical threads and linked them to this one, that way all of your replies will come here. In the future, please pick one forum per message, :)

check out this link (http://ipodlounge.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1350&highlight=ashampoo) for some help on corrupted mp3?s.

unfortunately ashampoo is a pc only program. wouldn?t it make sense to move this thread to the mac problems section, so eustacescrubb or other mac-heads ;) will be sure to see it?

You might try Audion. I've found it will play just about any MP3. Then use Audion to convert it to AIFF and back to MP3.
