I just saw this article from the New York Post about Apple and Amazon in talks to offer digital downloads. Maybe this is the iTunes for Windows that we've all been waiting for.

With the innovation of Apple and the marketing power of Amazon, this might be a win-win for everyone.

I know Amazon.com offers limited songs for download, as iTunes offers current Apple iTune users.
However, I think the link between Amazon.com and Apple's Music Store is the fact that they each have "One Click Shopping". The ability to purchase by the ease of a click of a single button, thus not having the need to have to enter personal information time after time. This one click shopping still remains exclusive to Amazon (and amazon.com run sites: Toys R Us, Borders, etc.) and Apple's Music Store.
Therefore, this is what I believe the link between the two are.

No, it's more than that. Apple licenced the one click stuff from Amazon a while ago. But there has been some info floating around that they have some sort of deal cooked up. I haven't heard too much though.

Thanks for correcting me. :)
I wasn't fully sure, only read about this through NewsWeek Magazine.
A definite Hmm... seeing that Amazon.com has offered music downloads for a small handful of songs on it's site for quite some time now. I just figured it just never took off--especially since NewsWeek used Amazon.com as one of the examples where such services were offered, yet never grew to the potential that Apple demonstrated in its first day of service alone.

Well it would be a really cool idea. I love Amazon and anything that can get them more business would be great.
