Hi All,

I have a pair of Shure Ec2 which broke today, this is the second pair that have developed a short in the cable. This is very frustrating and strange given I have never dropped them or whacked them in any way. I'm not Shure will warranty this pair too. Has anyone else has a similar issue with this set of ear phones?

There have been posts that confirm that the E2C's do have some build quality issues. However as long as you're still within the warranty period, Shure should take care of it for you. Shure, Ultimate Ears, and Westone all have excellent customer service.

We just sent 3pr back to Sh:shake: ure to get fixed. They are a year old ,so they are still under warranty. The same thing happened to all 3 pr with a short in 1 channel. it would either crackle or go out totally. To pay that kind of $ and have 3pr go out like that, there definitely is a problem with the EC2's. The original earphones that came with the mp'3 are still going strong!

I don't know that that is entirely fair. You can do better for the money, but apart from the discomfort and cable issues on the E2, the range is still impressive by most standards.
