Build Quality and comfort go to the UM1's, Service is on par with Shure and Ultimate Ears.

Out of the three you listed, my personal choice would be the UM1's, for Rock, Metal, Celtic, and all the other types of music I enjoy. The Westone's are probably the most comfortable IEM's being produced right now. :P

And in case you care, they're Made in Colorado. While Shure and Ultimate Ears are made in China.

Just a note: if you decide to go with the UM1's, order the Shure Fit Kit as well. The UM1's have a reputation of producing very different sounds depending on the tips that you use. They're very versatile that way.

now thats intresting, are they made in China in a factory along with $5 walmart buds only exception is the the brand or are they made in designated shure and UE factories?

I have no idea, I never investigated that far into it, but I can assure you that the designs/parts/frequency skulpting, etc. Are all Shure and UE. I only mentioned the fact that the UM1's are made in Colorado because they are the only IEM maker who has NOT gone to China to cut costs, yet.

And because when the quality is good, I do like to support a company that doesn't outsource outside of the country. We've got too much of that going on already here in the U.S.
