I know how to unassemble my 5th Gen iPod, but I am not sure how to take the clickwheel apart. I can remove it from the logic board, but I would like to know how to remove the plastic pieces from the circuitry. I am planing to replace the front panel with a clear one, so the black clickwheel needs to go. I have searched everywhere and read many guides on how to unassemble the iPod, but none of them cover this part. Does anybody know how to do this? Any help would be greatly appriciated.

If you are interested in a clear panel, you can pre-order one at www.ipodmods.com. Check it out.

Yeah, I just saw that, its cool how they finally did that after about two years of iPod users requesting it

Although the website doesn't have any instructions, I would most definately assume that you would very gradually and gently pry the wheel apart from both sides at once from the metal part, then reattatch the clear wheel with adhesive

I could be wrong though, so don't do that yet until iPodmods releases official installation guides
