Just out of curiosity for those of you here who own or have owned a pair of the V-Moda earphones.... Do you feel they are overrated or not?
For me personally they do the job rather well for the price, and provide the experience they seem to be intended for(for the record I'm basing this on the bass frequencies which are the only ones they made that I've tried). I previously had a pair of the Sony EX71's which are similar to the bass frequencies, but in my experience in using both sets I like the V-moda set much better than the Sony. It seems to deliver more overall bass, while delivering a good balance of mid's and treble as well without drowning them out. Now don't get me wrong as I'm not saying they produce the best sounding bass as far as clarity goes but they get the job done and at decent volumes which I suppose is due to the better seal the silicone fittings provide when using the right size for your ear. I dunno what it is but the fittings that the Sony EX71 uses seem to be a really cheapy and flimsy plastic like material which doesn't provide a good seal for me and winds up degrading the experience a little.
I am interested in buying a pair of V-moda's newly announced Vibe series as well to see how these differ from the bass frequencies. I guess as I said earlier I'm inclined to give V-moda's products a chance due to my great initial experience with the bass frequencies and feel they provide a decent value for the price. However I rarely see anyone in these forums or on the web talk about their products much. Just wanted to know what others thought of this company's products. Hope to hear some opinions and also other's experiences as well since that should prove to be interesting....:)
