I don't understand .. I upload album art for any particular album, and it shows in iTunes but does not show on my second gen iPod when I play the song. My girlfriend's buys her music off of iTunes and puts it on her first gen Nano, and the album art displays just fine. Suggestions? Any reason my art won't display?

Hi and welcome to iLounge,

Do you have under the music settings of the iPod "Display album artwork on your iPod" checked?

Thanks for the welcome.

I just tried this .. it was already checked. I tried unchecking, applying, and ejecting .. then resyncing and turning the setting back on, but it seems the only difference is that when it's turned on the song title / album name are left justified instead of centered, as if to make room for the artwork (that still isn't there).

I guess it's also worth noting that I'm not running the 1.11 update either, because when I try to update it says "corrupt firmware file". I think someone accidentally unplugged it without ejecting it first.

Try re-installing iTunes.

Could it be that your album art file is too big? I tried putting on the album art for ‘It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere’ by Slash’s Snakepit and it turned out that when I replaced the picture with a smaller version, the album art appeared.

Another possibility is that you're not auto syncing your nano. If you just move specific songs over to the nano, there's probably no link between the songs on your nano and the songs on your computer.

If that's the case, you could create a playlist or a smart playlist to auto sync with your nano. if this is the problem that would handle it.

It could also be that you have two album covers for each song. Not very likely, but can happen.
